The Journal of Central Asian Studies (ISSN 0975086X)" started its publication in 1990 (a year before the disintegration of the former USSR) and has published 30 volumes so far without any break. Besides, printing its high-quality hard copies, the journal is available for downloading on departmental website for wide circulation as well. Given the continued publication from more than three decades, the Journal of Central Asian Studies is considered as one of the prominent journals on Central Asia and has gained a great reputation among the Central Asian experts. The Journal has an international recognized Editorial Board and is acclaimed across the world for its quality, style, and content. This refereed journal receives research papers from across the world. Later, these papers are reviewed by the area study experts from India and abroad. The journal is indexed in the world’s two leading databases-EBSCO and ProQuest.
The Journal of Central Asian Studies (JCAS) publishes manuscripts that significantly impact the advancement of knowledge. The focus of the manuscripts can be on the Greater Central Asia or any of its countries/sub-regions including Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Iran, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Mongolia, Xinjiang, Tibet, Kashmir, and Ladakh. However, the thrust areas of the research are International Relations & Conflict Resolution, Power Structure and Security, History, Culture and Archaeology, Silk Route Revival and Trade, Islamic Revivalism, Ethnicity and Out-migration, Resource Management, Disaster Management, Cooperative Development, Environmental Degradation, Technology Transfer, Globalisation and Liberalization, Scientometrics, etc. Manuscripts are accepted with the understanding that they represent original research.
